For my first blog I thought I'd get right into things. I like to turn my old clothes into something new, fashionable and wearable using as little money (if any) as possible. Sound far-fetched? Not at all!
So up there is what I'm starting with. It's a beige, long sleeved, cotton top with small pocket detail.
So what I wanted to turn it into is a figure-flattering vest top that fits in with this season's trends.
Here are a few buttons I am using to Jazz it up.

So first things first, to turn it into a vest top I need to be rid of the sleeves, so off they come! You can then turn over the edges and finish with a sewing machine to give it a better look.
Now as I said earlier, as little money as possible. For this one I am only using stuff I already have so no money involved at all! These are two bras I don't wear, I am using the detailing of these to add to my top.

After fighting with Alfie for the bra I took off the leopard print edging.
Using loose long hand stitching I pulled the two ends together to create this ruffle!
The brown bows off the bra will give this top the cute factor.
Using the fabric of the sleeve I cut out various sizes of petals, layering them until you get a flower. If you had the time you could finish off the edges of the petals for a more finished flower.
I put the ruffle in the centre of the flower for some eye-catching detail.
Using the same method as before with long hand stitching I gathered the fabric to turn it into a V-neck.
Adding all the embellishments on where I wanted them using hand stitching, this is what it ended up looking like.
